Hurricane Sam

Meet Sam.

Sam's hometown was shaped by the mighty hurricanes that had swept through the region, leaving behind both destruction and stories of resilience. Intrigued by these powerful storms, Sam decided to jump into the history of hurricanes, with a special focus on Hurricane Katrina, an   event that impacted his coastal community in 2005.


Equipped with his laptop and a passion for knowledge, Sam delved into digital maps and historical records. He discovered a wealth of information about hurricanes and their devastating impacts. As he dug deeper, he realized the importance of understanding the past to prepare for the future.

Sam's exploration took him on a virtual journey through time. He examined the geographic path and impact of past hurricanes that had battered the Gulf Coast. Through interactive maps, he retraced the footsteps of Hurricane Katrina, aiming to grasp the magnitude of its destruction and the lessons learned.
